British Gas Training Academy

Class 6 visited the British Gas Training Academy this week where they were told how to be energy efficient. They all behaved fantastically and we all enjoyed the day. (Best part being the dinner)
The children were set a challenge to design and create a new energy efficient device. They all presented their inventions and the best group took home prizes.
Well done to all class 6.

World Book Day

WORLD BOOK DAY 2013

We had a great day on World Book Day. We had a whole school assembly where we listened to Miss Lewis' favourite book from when she was younger. We then went back to class and created biographies on our favourite authors.
In the afternoon we even did some welsh reading before completing our readathon.
The children who dressed as their favourite book characters looked great, taught by Where's Wally. Here they all are.

Monday, 4 March 2013

Thank you to all the parents who came to the open day. It was great to see you working with your children and bringing out the best in them. I know they enjoyed showing you their work and working alongside you.

We celebrated St Davids Day on March 1st. It was great to see all the children dressed in welsh outfts. Well done to the year 6 children who read  their fabulous welsh books out that they had written themselves -  Meici, Josh, Lauren, Chloe and Morgan B.

Well done to Lauren and Joshua winners of the year 6 handwriting competition.
Well done to Megan runner up in the year 6 poetry competition.
Congratulations to Morgan B who won the year 6 poetry competition. He was crowned the 'bard' and he read his poem and wore the crown all day long. The work of the winners will be on display at Bedwelty House.

Don't forget World Book Day this Thursday 7th March. Dress up as your favourite book character.

I'm off to find my costume!
