Hello and Welcome to the new school year. Firstly I would like to say thank you to all the parents of 'The Hawks' for sending all the children in school uniform. It really does make a difference.

Congratulations to our Head boy and Head girl - Jack Wilson and Libby Hubbard and to out Deputy Heads Tyrhys Lewis and Harli Green.

Yesterday 'The Hawks' were lucky enough to visit the Newport Dragons training ground, Rodney Parade, Newport. There we met 2 rugby players, Dan Way and Sam Parry. We interviewed Sam Parry and found out why he loved rugby. We were taken around the ground, and filled with interesting facts by Phil James, the Dragons Educational officer, who was fantastic and made the day very enjoyable. I've never seen the children so mesmerised (well not since Mr Twaite left!). Mike Sage the Dragons Community manager carried out a skills session with the children and talked to us about the fitness of rugby players. We found out that Sam Parry could bench press over 200kg. That was more than me and Miss Whatley at the same time. Wow.
The children have been given free tickets to watch the Dragons on Friday and we cannot wait! This event was sponsored by Tata Steel.
Anyway here's some pictures from our day.
